Talking about food for our camping trip, Honoria mentioned this idea:
"Mommy, we should make trail mix and put chopped twinkies in it!  We have not had that for a LONG time!!"

I'm pretty sure she didn't even know what a twinkie was.

Purely Hypothetical

The kids were on a roll asking each other hypothetical questions like, "If you could legally buy a moneymaker for five dollars, would you?"

Then Honoria thought she could get in on the fun too,
"If you saw a store that said "moneymakers," and you went inside, and all they had was tiny airplanes, what would you do?"

"Do you know what beef cows are? They are a kind of cows with beef inside."

Cut! What is this nonsense?

I was watching a movie with the kids and Honoria asked me, "Why do they have music playing? And you can't hear them talk?"

You know, one of those scenes where the sun is shining and everyone is happily rafting down the river... to music... and you can't hear what they are saying, but it looks like they are having fun.

Honoria: Do you know what Mickey Mouse does?

More Cows Please

I was talking to Julia about getting another milk cow for the farm, and she sounded positive about the idea. Honoria on the other hand (who was eavesdropping) was downright excited, "I want another milk cow! A daddy one!"

Cat fight

I noticed a scratch on Honoria the other day and when I asked her what happened she said, "It was either a cat or a boy."

Translating Honoria

"More green olives" - May I please watch another Speedy Gonzalez cartoon?

"I hold you" - Would you please pick me up?

Daddy's princess

Honoria was feeling really snuggly the other day while I was holding her on my lap. I hugged her and said, "You're my little girl." Feeling like she needed to say something similar back to me, she looked at me and responded, "And you can be my princess!". Then she gave me a big kiss.

Hard to say no to that, I guess.

Ears have feelings too.

The fire alarms went off the other day as Honoria was taking a nap. Mindy went up to get her and sure enough she was pretty scared of the rude awakening.

H: That scared MEEEE!
M: Yes, honey I'm sorry.
H: That SCARE MEEEE!
M: I know, it's over now.
H: That scared my EAR!
